Vanessa L. Kanaga is a seasoned attorney with nearly two decades of experience specializing in estate planning. She earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School and holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Wichita State University, as well as an Advanced Professional Certificate from New York University School of Law. Vanessa began her legal career in New York, practicing at Milbank LLP and Moses & Singer LLP before returning to her hometown of Wichita, Kansas, to practice at Hinkle Law Firm LLC.
In 2013, Vanessa embraced an exciting opportunity to apply her legal knowledge in the field of technology at InterActive Legal, which offers practice solutions for estate planning attorneys. As CEO, she successfully guided the company’s transformation into an online service provider and navigated the new wave of AI-based technology.
Although she enjoyed her role as CEO, Vanessa missed working with clients, learning about their families, helping them to find peace of mind and ensure the preservation of their legacy. In 2023, she returned to private practice in her new beloved home of Phoenix.
As part of the Becker & House team, Vanessa draws from her rich experience in estate planning and the problem-solving skills honed as a business leader, to offer personalized, effective solutions for her clients.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys swimming, cycling, and yoga. She is fortunate to have been married to her wonderful husband, Mark, for over 20 years. During basketball season, the two of them can be found rooting for the Phoenix Suns, whether at home on their couch or at the Footprint Center.
Vanessa is licensed in Arizona, New York, and Kansas.
